Amnesty International USA issues an Urgent Action Appeal for Dr. Ayyaz

URGENT ACTION APPEAL – From Amnesty International USA
Fear for safety/Torture

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
Dr. Ayyaz Ali Khan (m) and 2 Pakistani university workers (m)

Three Pakistani men, including a university professor of dentistry, have been missing since their arrest on 5 April 2010 in Ras al Khaimah in United Arab Emirates. Amnesty International fears they may be subjected to torture and other ill-treatment.

On 31 March 2010, Dr Ayyaz Ali Khan visited the United Arab Emirates to finish setting up a project at the faculty of dentistry at the university in Ras al Khaimah (RAK). On 5 April, Dr Khan was taken from the RAK University’s guest house by the UAE security officers. Two other Pakistani nationals, who work for the university in RAK, were also taken by security officers, from a different location.

On 22 April 2010, the spokesperson of the consulate of Pakistan in the UAE told the press that the consulate had been ‘temporarily’ denied access to the detained men until the investigation is completed. He said that the men had been transferred from RAK to Abu Dhabi for further interrogation by the Federal Security Department and that the men should be released on 23 April. However, the men are still detained in an unknown location and have not been given access to the Consulate of Pakistan. According to Dr Khan’s family, the UAE security forces have told them that they have no records of his arrest or detention.

Amnesty International’s concerns are heightened by persistent reports of torture and other ill-treatment as well as prolonged detention without charge or trial in the UAE. Amnesty International fears that the arrest and detention of the three men in conditions amounting to an enforced disappearance puts them at a great risk of torture or other ill-treatment.

Dr Ayyaz Ali Khan is Head of the Dental Department of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan al-Nahyan Hospital in Lahore and Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry of Rifa International University in Islamabad as well as Associate Visiting Professor at Ras al Khaimah College of Dental Sciences in UAE.

This 80-page report found that while the UAE government has moved to improve housing conditions and ensure the timely payment of wages in recent years, many labor abuses remain commonplace. Everyone including the Human Rights Commission Pakistan, as well as the media has ignored this victimization of a Pakistani citizen and refrained from taking it up publicly.

What is keeping the champions of 'Insaf' (the so called "ghairat brigade"!) keeping their, otherwise, laud mouths shut - surely it's just as inhuman and unfair to be imprisoned, for no crimes committed, in any other country and - it's disgraceful for us to keep quiet.

Dubai is Asian center of power of US hidden activities.
Read this article and get the dirty facts about the crystal like city .

This is same city which welcomes and provides all kind of facilities to black money makers but now registering its name on abducting true professionals of Pakistan. It might give relief to some corrupt icons of state but nation should be ready to loss another son of soil who represents the pure educated and working class of Pakistan.
When you pick thieves and rapists for safeguarding our assets and honor, each day would bring state of disgracefulness for all.

Nazia,

Then why not just kidnap them in Pakistan? or are you suggesting that the cash register is empty? or Pakistani-Blackwater wanted too much money? So instead they hired cheap-puppets?

Here responsibility lies on the shoulders of blood relations and his close friends who watched all events of his forced departure to UAE and well aware about his principled life.
Two docs who were released by these forces didn't bother to come to his family or try to reveal the truth that what is actually going on there.
They might be right as now they are more concerned on the security of their families and themselves too in this untrustworthy state of lawlessness in Pakistan but these are signs of discouraging true working class of Pakistan who are still striving in Pakistan with all kind of worst insecurities growing in surroundings.
That is what establishment and western forces want to eliminate all germs/bacteria of nationalism from this soil.

Who made this appeal?
If dr owais farooqi and group did so then they have strong links in US social political setup. They can make pressure on FSD through US houses.
it is not unusual that any person is considered under suspicion or queries by LEA as all law abiding citizens should understand the critical situation in Muslim countries.
But the way he was forcibly send to UAE and then abducted doesn't suit to people belong to so called liberal and democratic system.
He was vanished from the scene by disconnecting all kind of contacts with family and that is a annoying the literate Pakistani community.
Instead of adopting civilized way of interrogations with legal backups which they always claim on international forums, these US agencies are throughout invloved in backward way of handling people no matters they have good repute in their circle.
So such actions prove that nazi like strategies are still part of so called democratic states too.
