27th December: Mourning or Celebration for PPP / Zardari?
That fateful day last year Pakistan lost a charismatic leader in the form of the assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Its ironic that despite the fact that PPP since then has come to occupy the power house of Islamabad but it has brazenly ‘refused’ investigate the perpetrators and bring the ‘criminals’ to justice. What really irked me was when I watched Asif Ali Zardaris addressing a ceremony in Naudero commemorating the first anniversary of the martyrdom of Ms Bhutto, President Zardari said: “I know who killed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and I will expose them” and asked the ‘friends’ to come forward and help him instead of putting questions as to who killed Ms Bhutto
It is with the same concerning thought that one is bemused to see the PPP opportunists shedding a tear on her death anniversary on National TV, in the absence of any real commitment to launch a serious investigation, I believe these PPP opportunists should instead be celebrating this occasion, as it has handed them all a once in a life time opportunity which they continue to cash in upon the blood of their slain leader
Shakeel Anjum of The News Investigative cell shares an very detailed write up investigating the events following the tragic death. Quite simply without naming the perpetrator, he points the finger at many of our top leaders summarizing quite simply There is enough proof which points towards those who had played a key role in the whole plot that culminated in her assassination. But nobody can dare make any demand to unveil the elements because all these players are holding powerful positions
In the lack of a proper investigation, I might ask you to read this very informative article then answer this poll, maybe public opinion can help bring expose the perpetrators

The News, 27th Dec 2008; One year on, Benazir’s murder is still a mystery, but not so much By Shakeel Anjum
The chances of charismatic former prime minister Benazir Bhutto’s assassination remaining unresolved, like other high-profile murder cases in the country’s chequered history, may appear to be high but the investigators probing the case seem to have untangled the mystery and the progress being made may still take them to some conclusive outcome. People privy to the proceedings and progress in the investigations confided to The News that unravelling of the mystery shrouding the shocking crime could lead to startling revelations, if ever made public, with serious political implications.
“Some of the leads that we have obtained from the entangled evidence, both physical as well as circumstantial, guide us to certain personalities but any disclosures at this stage might cause extremely serious repercussions,” one member of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) told The News. “There is no doubt that we are in possession of highly sensitive information that our investigations have led us to and we have reason to believe that any premature exposure of this information would open up a Pandora’s Box that would be difficult to handle. We don’t want to take a bite that we may find difficult to chew at the end.
“So, we have to be patient for a while before making any conclusive assertions. However, I would say that there have been stages in the course of the investigation, where we felt it was almost impossible to proceed any further,” the source told The News on condition of anonymity. Certain points have already been widely discussed in the public, and one of these is the ‘elimination’ of two very important persons whose statements would have been extremely useful for the investigators.
One is the death of Ms Nahid Bhutto, a cousin of the late Benazir Bhutto, in a road accident near Hyderabad on her way to Karachi from Naudero, less than a week after the tragic assassination of the then-PPP chairperson. Insiders claim while cousin Nahid Bhutto was busy talking to somebody in Australia over telephone from the Naudero house in Larkana after the burial of Benazir Bhutto, she is believed to have touched upon something sensitive, overheard by somebody present there but without her knowledge.
As soon as she realised the presence of the other person, Ms Nahid quickly wrapped up her conversation, saying she would discuss the matter on her arrival in Karachi the next day. She never arrived as intended. She was killed in a road accident near Hyderabad while going to Karachi! Who was the person present in the room from where Ms Nahid was making the phone call is an important question for the investigators. Sources claimed the suspects were too powerful to be made part of the investigations. So, there is a stumbling block being confronted by the investigators, at this point at least. A second hurdle to the probe is the assassination of Khalid Shehanshah, the personal bodyguard of Ms Bhutto and a key eyewitness to the tragedy. Circles close to Ms Bhutto insist Khalid Shehanshah, who had deep connections with the underworld, was ‘specially deputed’ as personal bodyguard of Ms Bhutto when she decided to return to the country from her prolonged self-exile on Oct 18, 2007.
He stayed close to Bhutto wherever she went after her return and was always in the back of the vehicle that Ms Bhutto rode during her election campaign. It will be instructive to recall that his behaviour on the stage the day Ms Bhutto delivered her last speech at Liaquat Bagh had been questioned but the issue was tactfully hushed up. The investigators believe that he was in the know of important facts concerning the assassination of the 54-year-old leader. His murder was part of a larger scheme to silence anybody who could become a source of vital information that would help resolve the mystery shrouding the assassination.
Another very interesting aspect that surfaced during the investigations by The News was the late-night meeting of the head of an intelligence agency with Ms Bhutto. Reliable sources said the gentleman came to meet Ms Bhutto at around 1:30 am on the night of Dec 26 (early hours of Dec 27) and went straight into the meeting, also attended by Rehman Malik, then security adviser to the former premier. One source privy to the discussions claimed the spy chief categorically told Ms Bhutto not to go to Liaquat Bagh to address the rally. He said credible information had been received that there would be an assassination attempt on her life during the public meeting.
“Benazir was caught in two minds for some moments but Rehman Malik forcefully refused to take that advice. He (Rehman Malik) told the gentleman: Benazir cannot sit in confinement. She is a leader and she has to address tomorrow’s rally because that is very important,” the source said. And then the intelligence boss left. When asked whether the then-ISI chief, Lt-Gen Nadeem Taj, met Benazir on the eve of the tragedy (in fact in the wee hours of Dec 27 at around 1:30 am) and told her about the threat to her life and advised her not to attend the rally, Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik, who was operating as the chief security adviser of Benazir as she was travelling all over the country in connection with her party’s election campaign, told The News that the meeting did take place. “Yes. The meeting did take place. I was part of the meeting. The discussion remained confined to political matters. The issue of any life threat to Benazir or concerns about her security during the next morning’s public rally (in Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi) did not figure in the meeting,” Rehman Malik asserted.
After the rally was over and Bhutto boarded her vehicle, she asked Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who always sat on the right-hand side of the PPP chairperson, to exchange seats with her political secretary Naheed Khan. Amin Fahim obliged without uttering a word. Immediately, after taking her seat in the vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser jeep provided by a very influential property developer of the country, Ms Bhutto asked Naheed Khan to contact Nawaz Sharif, as she came to know about an attack on his rally on the Islamabad Highway. Some people were reportedly killed in the assault. While Naheed Khan was dialling Sharif’s number on her cell phone, a crowd came in front of the vehicle and prevented it from moving any further.
By the time Naheed Khan had almost dialled Sharif’s number and was waiting for the call to be connected on her Blackberry cell phone, Ms Bhutto placed her palm on the telephone and told her to call him later. Then she emerged from the sunroof of the jeep to wave to the cheering crowd. She had hardly started waving when the assassin fired at her at least three times. Evidently, two bullets hit her on the side of her head, slightly above temple. As she slumped back inside the vehicle and as soon as she hit the seat, a suicide bomber blew himself up. Collapsing inside the vehicle, she fell in the lap of Ms Naheed Khan, away from Makhdoom Amin Fahim, who was sitting on her left.
There is enough proof which points towards those who had played a key role in the whole plot that culminated in her assassination. But nobody can dare make any demand to unveil the elements because all these players are holding powerful positionsSources informed The News that Dr Safdar Abbasi, sitting on the backseat of the vehicle, immediately checked Bhutto’s pulse, as she lay motionless in the lap of Naheed Khan. He was horrified because there was no sign of life. He knew she had died instantly, before falling in the lap of Naheed Khan. However, to prevent panic, he told Naheed Khan to press the wound hard to prevent loss of blood. The fellow knew fully well his leader had already been dead. Another intriguing factor was the early departure of the vehicle used by Rehman Malik, Senator Babar Awan and Farhatullah Babar along with a couple of bodyguards. In the past, this vehicle had always tailed Benazir’s car, never leaving enough space that might allow another vehicle to come between them. But on that particular day, they abandoned Benazir and dashed towards Islamabad. Even when they were informed of the blast (suicide attack), Rehman Malik told the driver to keep driving towards F-8, informing the other occupants that Benazir was OK and that she was following in her vehicle.
It was only after reaching the Zardari House in F-8 that Babar Awan and Farhatullah Babar came to know of the real situation and returned to the central hospital. But Rehman Malik stayed back at the Zardari House. When asked why he did not go straight to the Rawalpindi General Hospital and instead rushed towards the Zardari House in Islamabad, Rehman Malik claimed that he did go to the hospital first. “When I reached the hospital, I saw people crying. I saw Naheed Khan in the arms of another lady, crying her heart out. I could not take any more and returned to Islamabad,” Rehman Malik said.
Surprisingly enough, when the numbing tragedy happened, there was no other vehicle either in front of Benazir’s jeep or behind it! The vehicle that was supposed to follow Benazir’s jeep had already abandoned her. There was no police escort in front of Benazir’s vehicle to clear the way, something that enabled the people to come in front of the vehicle, forcing the driver to stop. The driver of Benazir’s vehicle — though panic-stricken — kept his senses under control and continued to drive the badly-damaged vehicle. However, after about a kilometre’s drive, near the entrance to the Committee Chowk underpass, they found Sherry Rehman’s vehicle parked on the kerb, with only the driver behind the wheel, waiting for other occupants. They quickly shifted the injured, or by then dead, Benazir in that vehicle to the General Hospital.
Meanwhile, three VVIP women of the party were seen madly running towards the Rawalpindi Press Club, carrying their sandals in hands in a bid to escape from the scene. One of them later turned up at the General Hospital, looking shocked and dazed and mourning the death of her leader. Another intriguing aspect was that the Rawalpindi police neither held any meeting to review the law and order situation nor made necessary security arrangements for the important event, which took place soon after a bomb exploded outside the venue of a public meeting addressed by Ms Bhutto in Peshawar. The police also had information regarding threats to the life of the PPP leader.
Even more interesting was the fact that nobody has so far bothered to ask the senior superintendent of police (operations) as to why he was in a hurry mopping up the assassination scene, or who ordered the action while the site should have been cordoned off to facilitate the investigators looking for clues — a routine exercise after any murder, more so after such an enormous and historic killing. All said and done, last year’s slaying of the two-time prime minister remains an unsolved mystery. Although, her party leaders and security officials have been harping on their seriousness about resolving the whodunit, a UN probe into her killing is yet to be initiated. With the scene of murder hosed down in no time, one wonders what a United Nations team would accomplish after all these months of efforts to unmask the assailants.
Along with Makhdoom Amin Fahim and Naheed Khan, Khalid Shehanshah was also present in the vehicle of Benazir Bhutto, assassinated right in front of Liaquat Bagh. In charge of her security, Shehanshah was one of the closest aides to Benazir Bhutto. After her murder, he was tasked with the security of Bilawal House. He also fell to the bullets of unidentified assailants on his way home from Bilawal House. What exactly he knew and why he was eliminated are the questions agitating the minds of people. Some are trying to divert attention from his killing by saying he had connections with the underworld dons, who might have orchestrated his murder. But how could the dons accomplish such a folly when Shehanshah was the security officer of the country’s most powerful person?
Background interviews with knowledgeable quarters and investigation by The News reveal various mind-boggling things that followed soon after a jubilant Benazir came out of Liaquat Bagh at the conclusion of what was widely billed as a successful election rally. She was palpably overjoyed, glowing in the success of the rally. All the way to her ‘bomb-proof vehicle’, she wore a broad smile while waving to the cheering and slogan-chanting supporters. She embarked the vehicle and for some reason after asking Naheed Khan and Makhdoom Amin Fahim to exchange seats, sat in the middle. Khalid Shehanshah and Nasir took the rear seat while Safdar Abbasi sat opposite to them.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle took a U-turn on the College Road to head back towards the Murree Road instead of plying the route chosen for her return to Islamabad. According to the security plan already finalised, Benazir’s convoy was scheduled to return from the other way — first heading to Raja Bazaar and then taking the alternative route. When asked why Benazir’s vehicle turned right instead of turning left, towards Gawalmandi, in accordance with the actual security plan, Rehman Malik said it was not in his knowledge why Benazir’s vehicle turned right instead of following the original security plan.
Rehman Malik said his vehicle was ahead of Benazir’s vehicle and further ahead was a police escort van. Who changed the route and why the vehicle was returned to the Murree Road against the security plan remains a big question mark. It remains unclear who were the people blocking the way of her vehicle. Equally perplexing is the question: where were the security people supposed to keep the passage of Benazir’s entourage clear for safe and speedy exit from the venue?
Then she handed over the portable microphone, asked Safdar Abbasi to shout ‘Jeay Bhutto’ and joined in raising the slogans while waving to the crowd. And that was precisely when the gunman pulled the trigger. Three shots were fired at her. One reportedly hit her in the temple and she slumped back on the seat, believed to be dead before she fell. She was in the middle of crying ‘Jeay Bhutto’ when hit by the bullet, a popular slogan that would be registered as her last words. The gunshots were followed by a huge explosion, allegedly a suicide attack. Later, inquiries led many people and investigators to believe the bomb was exploded only to cover up the fact that she was killed by gunshots. According to sources, little attention was paid in the inquiries to ensuring serious effort at identifying the person who pulled out the gun and shot thrice at Benazir from such close range. How he managed to take such a precise aim while there was a huge crowd around the vehicle and one could hardly hold one’s ground, with people pushing and jostling in a mad rush, is mind-boggling.
There was hardly any query asked whether the assassin was also killed or he managed to escape. No one knows who ordered the mopping up of the scene. Who were the police high-ups who issued the orders to wash up the crime scene but were never included in the investigations? The Joint Investigation Team (JIT), constituted by the government to probe the incident, hurriedly came out with the conclusion that Benazir had died after her head hit the protruding lever of the roof that broke her skull. The JIT spent all its energies on proving this particular point, which was also announced by the director-general of the National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal Cheema at a press conference.
But another government agency investigating the assassination later insisted the earlier ‘conclusion’ was not correct as it proved the wound in Benazir’s head was almost 5mm deep and two centimetres in width — deep enough to crack open her brain membrane, as a result of which, part of her brain oozed out of the wound. “All this evidence leads us to believe that she was hit slightly above her temple by a bullet, which ricocheted but did the fatal damage to her skull. The skull on the left side was crushed by the impact of the bullet and the depression was deep enough to damage the protective membrane of the brain. It is a proven fact that such damage needs an impact of at least 50 Newton force. A knock by the protruding sunroof lever could not cause that sort of damage to her skull. So, we have reason to conclude that it was one of the three bullets fired by the assassin that hit Benazir and killed her instantly,” a source privy to the investigations told The News.
However, the elements that wanted to hide the facts, instead of paying attention to the report of the country’s own investigation agency, called in the Scotland Yard police which could find nothing new and had to vet the earlier report submitted by the JIT. Surprisingly, nobody raised the basic questions as to who ordered cleaning of the crime scene. By the same token, nobody asked why the original route plan was changed at the eleventh hour and the vehicle carrying Benazir was diverted towards the Murree Road. Also unasked is the query why there was no official security vehicle in front of and behind the jeep carrying her after the rally was over.
Now that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is in power, it is intriguing why the government has not made any effort to reinvestigate the case. The government did promise that a UN probe into Benazir’s death would be initiated, but there has since been complete silence on the part of the PPP government, baffling many. This scribe contacted a number of individuals engaged at different levels of investigations into the case, and some of whom are still quietly working on it. They said the case could be resolved “only if there is a sincere will to resolve it and if there is a resolve to catch the culprits behind the most unfortunate assassination in the country’s history,” one of them remarked.
“There is enough proof which points towards those who had played a key role in the whole plot that culminated in her assassination. But nobody can dare make any demand to unveil the elements because all these players are holding powerful positions,” they confided. “There is ample evidence available that could lead the investigators to the mastermind behind the plot. The evidence is scattered in bits and pieces but not hidden. What is required is only to collect these scattered pieces of the puzzle and put them together and that would easily complete the picture, exposing all those involved in this conspiracy, not only against a person, but against the nation,” they said.
“However, we have to bear in mind that the forces who want to keep the facts under wraps would never allow any such move. The assassination of one of the major players involved in the whole conspiracy in Karachi some time back has effectively sent out a strong warning to others and none would be willing to reveal the facts. At least, not for the time being,” they continued. Today, it is exactly one year that the ‘Daughter of the East’ and the most popular leader of the country was assassinated. Today, the party of the late Benazir is in power. And yet, her assassination remains a mystery! The time to unravel the mystery will, however, come sooner than later and then we will know who killed the only hope the country had.

In fact, Army chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, is the Top-First Beneficiary of the Pre-Regime of NRO. He was given the elevation as COAS due to the Demand of BB Shaheed for the doffing of the UNIFORM of Gen. Musharraf ( who was countered by BB-Shaheed to take up the Man of His Confidence, to be the Next COAS, i.e. General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, who brokered the whole Deal of NRO with BB in the Proxy of Gen. Musharraf).
Keeping in view, the Tragic Death ( Assassination ) of BB -Shaheed, on 27th Dec., 2007, the whole circumstantial Evidences of the Crime Scene ( from 14:30 PM upto 24:00 PM )all went to PH+AH+GHQ+111-Brigade+CCPO+Interior Ministry etc. If assumed, ZARDARI as Killer, then it is the height of the Stupidity & Non-sense of the whole Top Notches of then Rulers, as well as the total failure of the whole ISI + MI + IB etc who could not catch the FISH, at that very moment ( when the SC-Pakistan was in the pocket of Gen. Musharraf ).
Therefore, it is requested of every one, to think logical, prior to shoot any feeler in the air.
And, finally, do remember, that it was KAYANI who was the MS to PM ( BB-Shaheed ) twicely, and He having Best Relations with then spouse of PM ( BB ).
President Asif Ali Zardari’s attack on his unnamed enemies has raised many eyebrows and caused apprehensions about a possible repeat of October 12, 1999 when the then prime minister had sacked the Army chief.
who in return conducted a successful military coup by dismissing the elected government.
The presidential spokesman, however, does not see any such thing happening. “There is no such possibility,” Farhatullah Babar told The News, adding the PPP government does not apprehend any such thing.
President Asif Ali Zardari’s speech in Naudero on the second death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto has stirred a countrywide debate over the targets of his hostility. He did not mention in clear words whether it was the Army, the media or the opposition that was threatening democracy. Many, however, see it as a subtle attack on the Army after the reports pouring out of the Presidency suggest Zardari’s growing negativity about the establishment.
A senior columnist and political observer, while talking to this correspondent, feared as to what would happen if President Zardari makes an announcement about key changes in the military in a public meeting like the one he addressed in Naudero. Though the president’s spokesman finds it a hypothetical “concern” and simply ruled it out, the question does agitate many minds.
Without identifying the enemies of democracy and those accused of trying to destabilise the democratic set-up, President Zardari has furthered the conspiracy theories instead of removing confusion about those threatening his government. Farhatullah Babar repeated that the president’s target was neither the Army nor the media but the anti-Bhutto forces, which too were not identified. Babar said that the president made a political speech that had the required tone and tenor meant for the PPP followers.
Credible sources recently confirmed, although the presidency has denied, the president’s growing mistrust vis-‡-vis the top military leadership. In the absence of any clear explanation from the president, such behaviour on part of Zardari is incomprehensible.
Although October 12, 1999 events were the outcome of the known mistrust between the then prime minister and the Army chief following the Kargil adventure of General Musharraf, in the present scenario the incumbent Army chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, is widely respected for his professionalism and pro-democracy stance. General Kayani is not only highly popular within the Army but is also admired by political parties for the excellent role that he had played during the last year’s general elections and later on the occasion of the judges’ restoration.
In a situation when the Army as an institution has regained its respect and there is absolutely no sign of the military’s attempt to destabilise the democratic set-up, any effort by the president to make key changes in the Army top command would be extremely dangerous for the system. Last year, the government’s abrupt shifting of the ISI under the Interior Ministry was unacceptable to all and sundry, including the media, which resulted into the immediate cancellation of the government’s notification.
Perhaps foreseeing the dangers ahead, different views were being expressed in the media as a reaction to the president’s speech such as, “There are only so many possibilities about where the threat Mr Zardari keeps referring to can come from. With his public comments, Mr Zardari may in fact be alarming the persons in those institutions that they could be the target of impending attacks themselves and, therefore, need to strike before they are struck against. Our advice: put up or shut up. The president is supposed to be a symbol of the federation, a unifying force rather than a hyper-partisan figure fuelling conspiracy theories. More presidential, less political – that’s what the county needs from Mr Zardari.”
zardari is saying in another meaning or sense that he is knowing the killer or master mind of benazir bhutto.but realy he know the killer of BB.but his voice is pulled by heavy force.he is not directly involve but he known the plan of murder
All Top State-Actors ( as of 27th Dec., 2007 ) are the Main Killers of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. And, the top-companions of BB ( i.e. NK + SA + SR + RM + MAF + FB + BA ) played their Role as Support-Service Providers to State-Actors, to ensure their TARGET fulfilled ???????
In Case, ZARDARI was involved, then Gen Musharaf was such a fool-person, who could not get-hold of ZARDARI ???? Therefore, ZARDARI must be given clear-cut benifit of the circumstancial evidences, which still against ISI + Core Commander + CCPO + SSP ( Operation ) and the whole MEDIA ( who became very obedient to then Local Admn. and did not bother to go on that Street after the Rally, wher BB was killed ) ???????????

no farrah, thank you for listening and understanding.
the great majority(almost all) of the people including me can not think and see beyond our mental capability.
that is why arguments soon turned into bitter harshness.
that is why i say that you have a gift.
Dr Jawwad
I have taken up the case of these seven hundred.See the guts of Musharaff Supporter.LOL.I hope I will be listend empathetically by the world. Thanks for bringing this into my knowledge and advocating it.
yes. i still remember the drama.at that time every thing was showing the image of altaf.one day i met a psychiatric patient came and said that "since last 2 day i have loose motion but last night when i had a loose motion i saw the image of altaf in my WC.hahahhaha
altaf is a solid bol bachhan.politics is like a theater to him.we saw many dramas once there was a hunger strike of 8 days. some time campaign against smoking while his close deputes smoked in public. his main emphasis on his worker is just that " altaf hussain comes first evry other thing comes later. bloody rascal
@Dr.jawwadkhan,
you remember, Altaf mongolia had "extra-terrest"
and "supra-natural " visions on betel leaf" the

still holds those claims?
Dr Jawwad
Thanks for providing links.I will read them tonight and I do not shy away from persueing it with Human Rights Commission in london.
@Hamza:
"Now, there is no doubt that Zardari is corrupt, power hungry, etc. But, considering he was sidelined by BB in Dubai, and didn’t really play a role in her return to Pakistan, the idea that he was responsible for her death is an incredibly stupid conspiracy theory"
Let's count:
- Corrupt
- Power Hungry
- Sidelined by BB
- etc
Aren't these enough reasons for a guy (who btw has already killed BB's brother in the past)to kill his own wife? Someone who once could not even imagine to sit in ANY govt office (thanks to BB's 'chalo kutto yahan se' attitude) is now the friggin President of Pakistan?
Given his history, motives and present, I don't see too many reasons why he might NOT have killed BB.
Your thoughts. Just trying to weigh both sides.
hey hamza!
are you talking about intellectual capacity of the people of pakistan??
conspiracy theory?
just open a any search engine type 9/11 and press the enter i gaurantee you that you will see the mind blowing intellectual capacity of europians and americans.
@Asad ali!
the reason behind removing the chishti from the name that khuwaja moeen uddin chishti rematullah aleh converted thousands of hindus to islam.
and have a look the neech brelvis of MQM?
they are trying hard to convert millions of urdu speaking muslim to secular fascism. i know the tricks. i heard the speaches and i can say altaf kala is a non muslim, a ghaleez kafir, wants nothing but to deviate muslims from right path.
Hamza!
agreed but as i said:
i feel that although asif zardari is not involved in assasination,he had been taken into confidence by the assasins of BB and he gave his approval.
his behaviour is the biggest proof of my argument.
Dr. Alvi.
If the majority of your readership thinks Zardari killed his wife, then you really need to ask questions about the intellectual capacity of your readers. Now, there is no doubt that Zardari is corrupt, power hungry, etc. But, considering he was sidelined by BB in Dubai, and didn't really play a role in her return to Pakistan, the idea that he was responsible for her death is an incredibly stupid conspiracy theory. Perhaps you should put up another poll asking your readers if they believed that the Jews were responsible for Sept 11th. I would be really interested in knowing the results.

Thanks for providing link. When I read this and other reports ,Interviews and Guantanamobay detaines actual accounts presented in dacu drama.Camp Delta and Camp David these are horrific,it makes me feel insecure and sad .These were all done by Donald Rumsfield and Bush .
Hopefully Donald Rumsfield would be trialed.
This whole episode of War on Terror was horrible,it was extremly unfortunate that we as a nation were at the recieving end.
Can you please provide me a link for those seven hundred missing ,I have looked through various human rights links but was not able to find.Who were these people where were they picked from and what happened to them.
I do not find these people reported missing in human rights reports from Pakistan.I have read reports about LAL Masjid in human rights.
We ought to know this and should persue justice on their behalf.
I will be thankful if you could be of help on this.
farrah!

@Dr.Jawwad
My sense of humour is not very good but today while getting back from work I was lol and wanted to share this joke which I read in taleem-o-tarbiat megazine when I was a child but somehow it came to my mind today and wanted to share it.
Musharaff Sahab ki dushmani Dr or Wakeel hazrat donoun sai hai.
Both Doctors and Lawyers rarely make mistakes but if they do ,
ones mistake takes the person six foot down and the others hang him six feet above.
So I must read my presciptions clearly at least.:)
No Asad
I am not going to defend Musharaff,he is responsible for his actions to people, you are his people too.
I am just an enthusiast who thinks he is a better option at present from the rest.
We are all wise people.Sometimes I feel like sharing my reasons with other people ,but of course everyone have their reasons to like or dislike leaders.
It is a matter of choice. But more or less we are persueing the same things Justice and betterment of Pakistan.
Innocent people victimised or tortured is not acceptable.
Particularly people in Pakistan are extremely vulnerable actually even here we are vulnerable.
So no I am not going to defend this.
@Farrah,
you are not going to defend Musharraf on 700
soldout Pakistanis by Musharraf admited in his
Book, madame ?
The world knows about that !!
dr jawwad
Thanks for your response.I need to read more about these 700 people kept because ,my perception is they were caught from Afghanistan ,Pakistan Border.
As per the interviews I saw on Channel 4 from a Gauntanamobay detainee who was released from there.
@Pervaiz Musharraf " handled " the situation since
eight years, he should be held accountble, he was
replaced by another crook who is implementing the same
policies ?don't forget, Barrister's affiliations are
with both, hav'nt you noticed that ? Altaf, Musharraf
and Bhuttos, Barrister Altaf Musharraf-be-Zardari !
@ farrah
is it that simple? pervez musharraf supported america in the war against terrorism against the wishes of people of pakistan.....and people turned against him....no ma'am its not as simple as it is portrayed.
the fact is the silent majority was with him when he decided to take U-turn in the foreign policy aspecially fighting against al qaudia and taliban.
what was the starting point?
attacked the judiciary was the starting point when peoples of pakistan able to know the heinous crime he was involved.
and please correct this statement that 700 people sold to america the majority of those people were innocent with no background of armed struggle of any type.yes people have religious back ground that is why they became easy prey.
and also please do not forget that these poor people sold for money and money alone.
there are many crimes he had committed i want to see him tortured and brutally executed. i want him to die with very slow and excruciating painful death just because that house hold pig of america killed more than 2000 innocent women and children of jamia hafsa.for me that is unforgivable crime.
he shaked the social values and norms of the society he propagated vulgarity and obscenity in the name of enlightened moderation and cultivated the crops of SOBs secular fascist. these MF secular fascist laugh over the messacre of helpless and innocent rasikh ul aqeeda muslims.
just because of only one person.
he sacked and arrested the CJ and violated the constitution.
he arrested mohsin e pakistan dr abdul qadeer khan.
he was behind every deal in which assets of pakistan were sold just for chicken shit.
he impose a marshal law.
he openly celebrated of killing of 40 supporters who came to welcome CJ.
he turned islamic republic of paksitan into a banana republic even worst.
his crime list would be much longer than we know.
and i believe some day he has to pay those crimes.
i wish if could punish him by myself
Dr Jawwad
Like this "Matti Pao".But Jokes apart it really seems we cannot do a lot.
1)700 innocent people sold to america.
"
Benazir Bhutto appointed Rehman Malik as chief of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) which then launched a secret war against the Taliban supporters in Pakistan, which amounted to a direct attack on the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).The FIA leadership under Bhutto also angered Taliban supporters because they allowed the extradition of Ramzi Yousef to the US for trial on the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. One of the first acts of President Farooq Leghari after dismissing Benazir Bhutto on 5 November 1996 was to imprison Rehman Malik, the Additional Director General FIA on unspecified corruption charges.
"
Do you really think Musharaff had much choice?
He would have never become a part in war of USA but he was not left with option and of course ,he has faced the backlash and he is facing it.
Prison cells like ,Abu Ghraib,Gauntanamo bay and Camp delta ,no one approved of these around the world apart from USA and Israel.
My prospective on Musharaff is he had thought like a soldier, war strategy ,he had reality infront of him.Note US had not attacked Iraq than.So US would have directly attacked us including Afghanistan ,Iran.
What ever happened is a sorry state but I do not think there was any other option.
I am not trying to prove my point but this I think was the only option. If we would have provided protection to these people US would have branded us as a terror sponsoring state.
AFter all the only reason for attack on Afghanistan was Osama is there.
No proof but just an alligation.
there is new trend appeared since musharraf left the office.
this behaviour has become ideology.you know what is this behaviour?...i call it:
" MATTI PAO " behaviour.
1)700 innocent people sold to america.
nothing can be done " MATTI PAO "
2) judiciary was dismantled through clear violation of pak
constitution.
even the dogar is defecto judge, he is the CJ of suprem
court. nothing can be done " MATTI PAO "
3) BB was assasinated.
done is done. nothing can be done " MATTI PAO "
4) countless violation of constitution and law
if poor did it, make him an example. if powerful did nothing can be done, " MATTI PAO "
SOME ONE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE CRIMES COMMITED AGAINST PAKISTAN AND PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN.
otherwise we all will be " MATTI PAO " by ALLAH(swt)
Since Teeth Maestro has already given the verdict; there can not be any further discussion. Apparently he has used, “general perception theory” as evidence and going by his theory; All Muslims are Terrorist (since a great majority in the world considers them as terrorists); Pakistani Government was responsible was Mumbai Massacre (keeping in mind the general perception of Indians towards Pakistan’s Involvement) and the list goes on and on….
I do not support Zardari but this Zardariphobia should stop!!!! "wasay bhe app Khoobsorat hai TV ap achay lagtay hain" (prorably pointing to: bark, bark ; bark as much as you want!) Zardari's Statement regarding Immi lad..
aahaaaaa!
barrister again!
if it is cheap tabloid then....
why you are here barrister?
why we see your comments persistantly?
it seems that you also like the cheap tabloid....hen ji???
@Le Mystique on December 28, 2008 @ 5:14 pm
you mentioned,
"Such a poll seems to be a extremely wrong approach to something which may turn Teeth Maestro into a cheap tabloid."
What do you mean by, "may turn" into a cheap tabloid? LOL ; it is one ; reminds me of Sports World....but then it sells thats important; this guy has posted pictures of people's daughters and sisters on his blog to get the traffic
lolzzzz farrah you got me.
yeh i like him very much therefore i wanna see him touching new hights......almost 6 feet above the ground.hahahahahah
Yassir
2 cousins if ya see in reality will mutually destroy each other and worldly Plutocrats gain profit from carnage and subjugation of both
Is the bank ruptcy of USA a fall of both?
Dr Jawwad
All the six votes for Musharaff are casted by you. These votes are jury votes for murder culprit not for Jamhuriat.
I know you like him:)
Apologies - Amazingly I had forgotten to list Musharraf in the list - have just added him - sorry for the mistake, else I cant think of anyone else who might be involved in this heinous crime
As far as the sensationalization goes - we pale in comparison to the 'sensationalization' orchestrated by Zardari - lets not forget his UN address, it was truly hilarious how he positioned BB's portrait.
But unless an independent investigation finds the 'real culprit to prove Zardari's innocence sadly the general perception is that he ALONE was the actual mastermind of the assassination with a few of his close and trusted aides working on the ground to implement his plans. Public perception is probably the most difficult to cleanse.
For now Zardari is Guilty until proven innocent
Had the opinions of common masses the best way to get the best results, we won't have Zardari as the democratically elected president.
Such a poll seems to be a extremely wrong approach to something which may turn Teeth Maestro into a cheap tabloid.

[...] Teeth Maestro has posted an interesting and detailed article about the circumstances surrounding Benazir’s death and why we still have no clue as to who was responsible for it. One day we may know, but for now all one can do is witness the consequences. [...]
