If true, this is shameful and absolutely embarrassing! This is not a democratic political party but a family jageer. I was just beginning to sympathize with the PPP. Why they went with a kid who has just finished high school when there are men of the caliber of Aitzaz Ahsan in the party is beyond me. Everyone knows Aitzaz Ahsan - the man is a hero. If not Aitzaz, go with Makhdoom Amin Faheem. There’s got to be more senior leadership if this is supposed to be Pakistan’s biggest and most organized party.

Benazir Bhutto was not only chairperson of PPP for life but designated her husband successor for leadership in her will. Her husband decided to name his son Bilawal to succeed while maintaining effective control of the party himself as co-chairman. Uhh, in a democracy, you’d actually have a caucus of party leaders or something, even in emergency like this, and you certainly wouldn’t give reins to 19 year old kid. Do you think he is mature enough to lead the largest political party of Pakistan?? It seems that entire PPP does not have a single person capable of leading the party……………..Is this family heirloom? When the generals rape the country and the land and democracy for decades, the institutions do not develop. Why do people blame the victim and not the perpetrator?
