He’s wearing a blue baseball cap, and faded, torn jeans as he comes close his hand rises from the right side of his frame, to bring a book into view. As he moves closer, the title comes into view, so does the realization that what he is brandishing, is a book by his countrys’ dear leader, who recently, with the help of a professional ‘agenda swinger’, published his memoirs from the platform of the house of the White Masters, with great success.
The memoirs were an effort to put the countrys’ burgeoning Economic success into the context of the political trivialities and personal sacrifice that the dear leader had to make himself.
As the title of the book became clearer so did a an apparition. An irony dawned, for what I saw in front of me, in the form of a a street vendor selling the memoirs of his beloved leader, which the vendor will himself never will have the faculties to understand… a shameful contradiction.
I saw God playing cruel joke at the circumstances that had led a street vendor, in his torn jeans and blue baseball cap, to sell memoirs of his ‘dear leaders’ interpretation of the economic boom that had ravished the country.
I acknowledged the dilemma of this brutal irony, as the signal turned green, put my car in the first, looked up, passed a smile and drove off leaving the book and its hapless salesmen in a trail of the ‘dear leaders’ economic boom.

This observation was meant to be just that, an observation. If anyone does read into it, I would advice that it be a reflection of not the leaders of the great nation of Pakistan, but a reflection on the citizens of this great nation. We as individuals cannot change others, that should not be the goal. Others are changed through examples, which we as residents are incapable of creating.

ah the urdu version of his royal highness’s book is finally here. i would never read his book even if i was paid a lot of money. well screw that of course i would read it if i were paid to read it. jokes aside i dont have the patience to read the story of a “great” man. i would never read it in english nor in urdu (cant read it in urdu coz urdu script is difficult to read).so shame on ur royal highness for being a man of great stature. you are so great that you dont listen to the americans at all and dont let them murder innocent civilians under the guise of war on terrorism. for shame.
