A1GP Pakistan
A1GP is the creation of Sheikh Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum who has truly envisioned the creation of a racing circuit parallel to the world famous Formula 1 series. AiGP tries to bring the fast paced motor racing away from cutting edge developers permitting individual nations to compete on a level playing field. The technology and innovation are deliberately equalised and performance is then determined by human bravery, skill and excellence. Team and driver combine to create their advantage in an attempt to raise the national flag with pride. Last years 2005 season was won by France piling up a massive 172 while the Swiss came second with 121 points
Team Pakistan last year ended the season with 10 points (ranked 20/25) driven by Adam Khan but this year he has been replaced by Nur Ali who has had some previous racing experience which we hope will be a benefit in the overall picture. But sadly the first race of the 2006 season in Netherlands Nur could not stay on the track as it had started to rain while he was running on dry tires, hard luck. Though a poor start I wish the team could get its act together and burn some serious rubber. I am quite anxious to follow Team Pakistan through 2006 and will try to keep the blog updated on its progress, its time for Pakistanis to rally behind this team and hope that they can really improve to make us proud.
Next race - Brno, Czech Republic, Oct 08, 2006
