Karachiblog.com has been hacked by the_flash & Absorb belonging to the THX-Clan. Karachi blog was at one time considered to be a competitor to Karachi Metroblog in 2005, KMB opened its blogging flood gates in February 2005 while the first reported post on Karachiblog was when we I just stumbled across an old Karachi based blogged which was March 22nd. Blog post appear to have died down after December of 2005 but since then the only activity has been the works of hackers trying to beat the system, it really appears as a fist fight to deface the page

April 17th (The_Flash),

April 18th (NanoyMaster),

20th June (The_Flash) &

29th August (D.Writey, AbSoRb & The_Flash).

I don’t mean to support these hacking attempts but basically attempt to highlight what bloggers must do to be very careful in this Internet era. These are a few items that one must do to keep safe.

Keep your website software updated (Latest WordPress release is 2.0.4)

Keep a Backup of your database

Keep a Backup of your website files

Implement a good high strength admin password (a good mixture of characters upwards of 10 digits or more)

Pakistani bloggers are slowly coming into the mainstream blogging and hence into the spotlight, this in turn will expose them to a wide variety of readers and may come under attack so be careful.
