Try it once you would be astonished how quickly it finds stuff and you WILL NEVER use the windows search ever again. When you launch Desktop Search it open up127.0.0.1 which is a local search and thats it. Hell if you are worried about Google picking up your data, I would be mroe worried about entrusting Microsoft as I practically live on a Microsfot windows.
